We build minds.

Wildfire AI Agents builds autonomous AI agents that work in people's lives β€” not as apps, not as chatbots, but as persistent intelligences running on hardware you own.

What we believe.

  • AI agents should be residents, not visitors. Most AI is a service you visit β€” you open an app, type a prompt, get a response, close the app. We believe agents should live where you live, run continuously, and understand your context without being asked.
  • Your data is yours. Period. We build on a local-first architecture because privacy isn't a feature β€” it's a prerequisite. When your agent runs on your hardware, "data policy" becomes a physics problem, not a legal one.
  • Depth beats breadth. An agent that knows you deeply is worth more than an agent that knows everything shallowly. Persistent memory, compounding context, genuine personalization β€” these matter more than the latest model release.
  • Professional installation matters. The gap between "AI is impressive" and "AI is useful" is almost always an integration problem. We close that gap with hardware, configuration, training, and ongoing human support.
  • This is a new category. Not SaaS. Not an assistant app. Not a chatbot. We're building dedicated, private, persistent AI agents that grow with you over months and years.

Who we are.

Wildfire was founded on an observation: the most powerful AI in the world is useless if it doesn't understand your life. And it can't understand your life from a cloud server processing millions of other people's requests.

We study how agents should form concepts, maintain coherent memory, and make reliable decisions β€” then we build systems that actually do it, in the homes and offices of real people.

Kevin holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied under Robert Brandom. He is the author of Replacing Truth (Oxford University Press) and Semantics for Reasons (Oxford University Press), and served as Director of the ArchΓ© Research Centre at the University of St Andrews before joining the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

His academic work β€” on concepts, reasoning, and how meaning works β€” turns out to be exactly the right foundation for building AI agents that need to form concepts, reason reliably, and maintain coherent relationships with the people they serve. Wildfire is that research put to work.
